The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People

Stephen Covey was born in 1932. As you become better at delegating tasks, you will find that you have more time that you can use to do other higher level tasks such as planning, developing relationships, finding new business and so on. In fact you can spend increasing amounts of time on the things that are important to the success of you and the people you are delegating to and less time on managing day to day urgent issues and crises.
Published in 1989 the book has not lost popularity till today and it considered as one of the most popular books in the world on personal growth and increasing one's own effectiveness, more than fifteen million copies have been sold all over the world; the book has been translated into thirty-eight languages, and in 2011 the magazine Time added it to the list of 25 books of the most influential business books of management.



Whilst the first 3 dimensions are related to your principles of personal vision which relates to habits 1,2 and 3. This dimension is related to habits 4,5 and 6. It is centred on the principles of empathic communication, leadership and creative co-operation.
Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new foreword and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant and answer some of the most common questions he has received over the past 15 years.

I understood at a deeper level why, as I had worked through the years with people from all walks of life, I had found that the things I was sharing as a consultant with Franklin Covey and knew to be effective were often at variance with these popular voices.
Ranked as another of the classic self-help books along with titles like Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People,” Steven Covey modernized and engendered a niche in the genre of self-improvement through the idea of creating success through targeted methods that boost productivity.
But the part that had the greatest effect on me, looking back, is the notion of the Personal Mission Statement; a written representation of who you are and who you want to be. It's a credo or philosophy, written to reflect your values and edited over time to refine the edges of your philosophy.

In The 7 Habits book, Covey writes that he conducted an in-depth study of decades of principles of personal, interpersonal, and organizational effectiveness, which he gleaned from numerous books, articles, and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People essays, written by some of the world's greatest thinkers and leaders such as Aristotle, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Johnson, George Bernard Shaw, Viktor Frankl, T.S. Eliot, Carl Rogers, and Peter Drucker.
I love his notion of synergy in creating values, but this is also the notion that pains me the most, because this is the least I see around me. May be it's the human nature not to seek synergy, but, in any case, I've applied this in my personal relations, and that has changed my life.
